Experiencing Las Vegas: From Resorts World to Allegiant

What happens in Vegas doesn't actually stay in Vegas, it get put into an article for public consumption.

WWE WrestleMania takes place in Vegas this April, with Allegiant Stadium hosting the event on April 19-20. I had a unique opportunity to experience a tour of the City that features so much more than I've visited in my prior five trips. Allegiant Stadium itself was a wonderful tour, and highlighted to me that despite my Cincinnati Bengals defeating them in the playoffs a number of years ago, that we need a better facilities. Imagine my surprise when I saw Pete Carroll stroll through the stadium in a golf cart, and then saw the ESPN alert he was the new head coach.

An attraction that stood out most was Atomic Saloon. I'd first become acquainted with this presentation when my friend Barbi Hayden was cast in it a number of years ago. It's one of the most "Attitude Era" attractions in the city, with feats of athleticism, strength and beauty, combined with performative raunch and shock.

Mad Apple steps it up a notch with an insane show that only Cirque du Soleil is able to pull off.

Many of the attractions in Las Vegas that I may have never otherwise seen is the insanely expansive Meowolf Omega Mart. A very tongue in cheek art display with a storyline that you can opt to follow, which adds to the experience. If following the story, you could visit a half-dozen times and come nowhere close to discovering everything it has to offer. It provides a very tongue in cheek grocery store, complete with actual items you can purchase like "Plausible Deniability." Once you go inside the art display, a seemingly endless story unfolds.

I'm not much of a golfer, but do I ever love a good peripheral, gimmicked golf game. I've often mentioned mini golf in my area ("Fairway to Heaven"), and Swingers Las Vegas didn't disappoint. Located in Mandalay Bay Beach, you too can watch one of your friends struggle to get through the Tony Hawk-esque loop (as Denise did -- only 12 shots!) or feel the thrill of victory with a hole in one, of which I got none. I still won though! Elsewhere, Top Golf is a must-visit in any city you're in, and something that golfers of all experience levels stand a chance at. There are Angry Birds and Sonic the Hedgehog themed games that can actually reward your destructive nature if you're a terrible or completely new golfer!

That was far from the only playing done. Play Playground at Luxor is full of interactive games to enjoy, and a slide that made Denise Salcedo fear for her life, which was worth admission. It was conveniently located next to a Titanic Exhibit as well!! Play Playground resembles more of an actual playground than a typical barcade.

We enjoyed food at Flanker Kitchen, Wally's and Junior's at Resorts World, which is like a city of its own. We also were able to watch WWE Smackdown from the comfort of a private room at RedTail. That was a first.

If you need to figure out how to get around the city, the Las Vegas Loop is a great way to catch all the sights.

This was my fifth trip to Las Vegas, and I saw more in these three days than I had my four trips combined. Resorts World itself was a highlight for me. We were treated so well there and the ameneties were off the chart. I even left with a lovely Resorts World hoodie, which was useful as I left the comfortable sun of Las Vegas to return to the ice-ridden Lexington roads.
