A lot happened in the closing moments of the UFC 229 main event between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.
To start, Nurmagomedov defended his UFC Lightweight Title, turning in a masterful four round performance capped off with a rear-naked choke victory. Khabib out-wrestled McGregor from the first round on and even stumbled the Irishman on the feet. It was the fight many expected once the fight hit the ground and Khabib proved why he's the best lightweight in the world and one of the best grapplers in the sport.
But the aftermath is what everyone will be talking about. Following the victory, Khabib jumped over the cage and went after McGregor's jiu-jitsu coach Dillon Danis. The two had to be separated in the crowd. While this was going on, a member of Khabib's team got into the cage and sucker punched McGregor. The two teams continued to have to be separated and both men were ushered out of the arena without a post-fight interview.
Fighters had a lot to say on social media after the antics.
