Former three-time NBA All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Deron Williams, is making the transition from the hardwood to the boxing ring.
The Athletic's Shams Charania was the first to report the news that Williams would be fighting on the undercard of the upcoming Showtime boxing event on December 18 that is headlined by Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury. Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix additionally added that Showtime has a deal with former five-time NFL Pro Bowl running back, Frank Gore, who is also making the transition to boxing, and that Williams is at the top of the list of potential opponents for Gore's debut bout. However, nothing has yet to be officially announced or confirmed by Showtime concerning Gore or Williams.
