According to Frank Shamrock, he could have Scott Coker's job.
Shamrock recently appeared at the Combate Americas press conference, which is where he revealed the news about the offer from Viacom to become Bellator President.
"They asked me to run the Bellator show and it just didn't fit in my wheelhouse of things I wanted to develop," Frank explained. "I like the brand, I appreciate what they are doing, but it's the same reason I told the UFC no. They wanted to take a corporate culture and put it into an artistic expression sport, and to me that didn't make sense,” said Shamrock.
Just because Shamrock will not be taking part in Bellator MMA does not mean he is staying out of MMA as a whole -- he'll be providing color commentary this weekend at the Combate Americas event from New York, which will be airing live on UFC Fight Pass.
Combate Americas: Empire Rising will be taking place on Friday, October 14th from the Turning Stone Resorts Casino in Verona, New York with John Castaneda and Gustavo Lopez fighting for the vacant bantamweight title, plus UFC veteran Matt Hamill will be competing in the co-main event.
