Former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine De Randamie is still suffering from a hand injury that has plagued her in the last few years.
Despite recent surgery on the hand and the ability to resume training, the former champion doesn’t know when she’ll get back in the Octagon.
"I’m carefully starting to train,” De Randamie said to MMA Fighting. "But I have to take it very careful. So I’m sorry I have no idea when I will be back fighting.”
De Randamie hasn’t competed since she won the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title via a controversial decision over Holly Holm at UFC 208.
Reports recently surfaced that De Randamie pulled out of a planned bout against Ketlen Vieira at UFC Fight Night Belem and the former champion says she never agreed to the fight anyway.
"I’m still rehabbing from my injury,” De Randamie said. "Never did I signed or agree to fight anyone at this point. The UFC also knows I’m not able to fight right now. I need to let my body heal properly."
The hand injury isn’t the only issue De Randamie has been dealing with in recent months, because she was stripped of her UFC Women’s Featherweight Title as well.
