One of the biggest matchups in boxing appears to be set for next year.
Undefeated lightweight stars, Gervonta "Tank" Davis and Ryan Garcia have signed a deal to face one another in a 136-pound catchweight bout, set to take place in the first quarter of 2023. Both Davis and Garcia officially announced the matchup via their respective social media accounts, with Showtime Sports President Stephen Espinoza providing additional confirmation of the booking via the following tweet.
Done deal. It's on.

All credit to Tank and Ryan. Lots of obstacles along the way, but they both stayed the course to give the fans the fight they want. #DavisGarcia #TankRyan pic.twitter.com/nOge6tHJxF
Davis is a three-division world champion and is currently undefeated as a pro at 27-0. He's coming off of a sixth-round TKO victory over former interim lightweight champion, Rolando Romero, this past May. The 28-year-old Baltimore, Maryland native also revealed he'll be fighting an unnamed opponent on a yet-to-be-announced Showtime PPV event on January 7, prior to this matchup. Garcia on the other hand is also undefeated as a pro at 23-0 and defeated former two-division interim champion, Javier Fortuna, via a sixth-round TKO in July in his latest appearance.
