A featherweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira as Hunter Azure faces Brian Kelleher.
UFC President Dana White revealed the bout during an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Azure (8-0-0) has already picked up one win under the UFC banner, which came over Brad Katona at UFC Fight Night Vancouver. Azure competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 3, defeating Chris Ocon by unanimous decision. Azure is also undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and his streak has also lasted over two years.
Kelleher (20-10-0) has won just one of his last three in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Ode Osbourne at UFC 246. Kelleher hasn’t competed on a “Fight Night” card in over two years, with his last such appearance coming at UFC Fight Night Gdansk in October of 2017. Kelleher has suffered ten losses as a professional MMA fighter and six of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira takes place on Wednesday, May 13 from the VyStar Veteran Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
