UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has signed a new multi-fight contract with the promotion ahead of his rematch against former champ, Robert Whittaker, this Saturday night at UFC 271.
According to a press release via Adesanya's management team Paradigm Sports, the 32-year old reigning 185-pound champion has signed "one of the most lucrative multi-fight deals in company history" with the UFC and it will make him "one of the top paid athletes in the history of mixed martial arts." Paradigm Sports SVP Tim Simpson also said the following about the deal.
"We are very happy with Israel's new promotional agreement with the UFC. Israel truly deserves to be in the position he is in, and we look forward to several more prosperous years with the UFC."
