Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza needed a new foe for UFC 256 after Marvin Vettori was moved to UFC Vegas 16 and now he has one in Kevin Holland.
The news was announced during the UFC Vegas 15 broadcast.
Souza (26-8-0-1NC) enters the contest riding a two-fight losing streak with those losses coming to Jack Hermansson and Jan Blachowicz. Souza hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with that last win coming over Chris Weidman at UFC 230. Souza has picked up 14 wins by way of submission, but he has yet to be defeated by that method.
Holland (20-5-0) enters the contest riding a four fight winning streak, with three of those four wins coming by KO/TKO. Holland has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter, with four of them coming to a mix of UFC/Bellator veterans. Holland has competed 25 times as a pro MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC 256 takes place on Saturday, December 12 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
