A welterweight division affair is the newest addition to UFC Fight Night Sydney as Jake Matthews is in action against Bojan Velickovic.
The Herald Sun first reported the fight.
Matthews (10-3-0) enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, dropping fights to Kevin Lee and Andrew Holbrook. Matthews is also fighting as a welterweight for the first time in the UFC, all of his previous bouts in the promotion came in the lightweight division. Matthews is also competing for the first time in almost a year, with his last bout coming at UFC Fight Night 101 in November of 2016.
Velickovic (15-5-1) has won just two of five fights thus far in the UFC, those two victories came over Alessio Di Chirico and Nicolas Musoke. Velickovic has seen all five of his UFC fights go into the third round and only one of those fights ended with a finish. Velickovic also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 19, losing to Tim Williams in the opening round of the reality show.
UFC Fight Night Sydney takes place on Saturday, November 18 from the Qudus Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia with Fabricio Werdum and Marcin Tybura headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
