Jesse Taylor Doesn’t Agree With USADA Methods

TUF 25 winner Jesse Taylor was recently handed a one year suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for a failed drug test in line with the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale.

While the fighter likes what USADA is doing, it is their methods that Taylor doesn’t always agree with.

“I actually like what they’re doing,” Taylor said on The MMA Hour. “But I think what’s going on is they’re starting to burn a lot of guys. … I think they’ve gotta look at other outside circumstances. They’ve gotta look at out-of-competition stuff, which this test was and they’ve gotta look at the drug. It’s not a steroid, it’s an anti-estrogen. They hear all those facts out, but they won’t actually start listening to them unless you actually fight it. Unless you actually go through the whole process.”

Taylor is able to return to action in September of 2018, since his failed drug test is retroactive to the failure date in September of 2017.

Once the suspension is over, the TUF 25 champion simply wants to move on from the whole ordeal.

“I definitely want to move on,” Taylor said. “Again, it sucks, but like everything, you’ve gotta look at the blessings in disguise. Now I’ve got some fire. I’ve got some more fire to keep on fighting. I’ve got this allegation against me. I’ve got that fire, I think everything happens for a reason. I think it’s a blessing in disguise.”

Dhiego Lima is the one who lost to Taylor at the TUF 25 Finale and he recently disparaged the fighter after hearing about his failed drug test.
