Jessica Andrade Makes UFC History, Becomes 1st Female Fighter To Win Fights In 3 Weight Classes

Jessica Andrade competed in the co-main event of UFC Fight Island 6, defeating Katlyn Chookagian by first round TKO.

That win was a history making one for Andrade, as the former UFC women’s strawweight champion became the first female fighter to win a bout in three different weight classes.

5 Key Things in MMA – What to Expect During the Fall Season

The wins  at bantamweight came over Rosi Sexton, Raquel Pennington, Larissa Pacheco and Sarah Moras. The wins at strawweight came over Jessica Penne, Joanne Calderwood, Angela Hill, Claudia Gadelha, Tecia Torres, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Rose Namajunas. The fighter’s lone win, thus far, at flyweight came over the aforementioned Chookagian.

There is no word at this time if Andrade will move up to featherweight one day, as a victory in that weight class would mean that the fighter has a win in every women’s weight class in the UFC.
