A world title unification at 140 pounds has been added to the undercard of the May 25 DAZN card from Maryland.
WBC junior welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill will face WBA champion Anahi Esther Sanchez to unify the two titles. The fight will mark the first title defense for either women in their current, respective reigns.
McCaskill won the WBC title in October 2018 when she won a 10-round decision against Erica Anabella Farias on the undercard of a DAZN card taking place in Chicago. That was McCaskill's second attempt at winning a world title after unsuccessfully challenging for the WBA lightweight title when she faced Katie Taylor in December 2017.
Sanchez, who sports a 19-3 pro record, has won titles in four different weight classes. Sanchez won the interim WBA featherweight, IBF super featherweight, WBA lightweight and junior welterweight titles. The mutli-time titleholder won the interim WBA title at 140 pounds in April 2018 when she knocked out Diana Ayala, but has since then but elevated to full world champion.
The card will be headlined by former unified Oleksandr Usyk's heavyweight debut against former world title challenger Carlos Takam. Also on the card is heavyweight prospect Filip Hrgovic facing Gregory Corbin.
