Joanna Jedrzejczyk Believes She’s A Win Away from Another Title Shot

Former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is facing Tecia Torres this coming July at UFC on Fox 30.

Jedrzejczyk is coming off of a pair of losses to UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas, but still believes she is just a win away from another opportunity to reclaim the gold.

“I believe that I am going to get the title shot after this fight,” Jedrzejczyk said on The MMA Hour. “We’ll see what’s going to happen. I said that I could have 10 more fights before I get the title shot, because I went through this in 2014 and ’15. I want this belt and I will get this belt back. Mark my words.”

The former women’s strawweight champion is also competing in her first non-title fight in the UFC since defeating Claudia Gadelha in their first encounter at UFC On Fox 13.

There is also a chance that Jedrzejczyk moves up to flyweight in the future, but first she wants to get the strawweight strap back.

“My plan is to get the belt back first of all and after that I will move up,” Jedrzejczyk said.

UFC On Fox 30 takes place on Saturday, July 28 from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
