UFC 213 took a huge hit when UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes fell ill and her main event bout with Valentina Shevchenko was pulled from the card.
However, there was one high profile name who was willing to fight Shevchenko on just a few hours notice -- UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
“Joanna Champion” posted the following video on Instagram shortly after the title fight was pulled from UFC 213:
Valentina Shevchenko, who didn't end up competing at UFC 213, was also willing to face the UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion:
.@danawhite @joannamma said she is ready to fight today.

I am ready now 100%!
Let's do it for the title belt in 125 lbs. Today!#UFC213 pic.twitter.com/QQWXiQdgVI
MMA Junkie’s John Morgan spoke with UFC President Dana White, who acknowledged that while Joanna was willing to step in, the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) would never approve it.
Just spoke with @danawhite, and he said @joannamma was begging him to step in and take the fight. NSAC would never allow, but #gangster. https://t.co/Len2uQg0wM

Although we are not getting Jedrzejczyk/Shevchenko, we are all left to simply wonder what may come of the future for the two.
