Speculation has surfaced surrounding a potential bout coming later this year between former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone.

Joe Rogan, during an edition of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, says that the bout between McGregor and Cerrone is a done deal.

“I think it’s going to be Conor and Cowboy. Conor and Cowboy is a done deal, as far as I know,” Rogan said (via Bloody Elbow).

Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub, who was a gust on Rogan’s podcast, would echo the sentiments of the host and say that Cerrone has already signed a contract.

“Me too,” Schaub said. “As far as I know, Cowboy signed a contract.”

UFC President Dana White, when asked about the potential fight, says it isn’t a done deal at this time.

“Not true. Not even close,” White told TMZ. “It’s not even close to being done.”

If the bout does come together, it would be the first time McGregor has fought since UFC 229, while Cerrone was last seen in action at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn. The potential bout also couldn’t happen until late April, as McGregor is currently serving a six month suspension for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
