Former UFC fighter John Lineker made his One Championship debut late last year, defeating Muin Gafarov by unanimous decision.
It turns out that Lineker’s fight last year was the first of six for the promotion, as Lineker has revealed that he has signed a six fight contract with the UFC.
“I think about it all the time (my financial future). Time goes on, we get old, injuries come up. I’ve been thinking about that everyday. Raising some money, making investments, so that when I stop, my kids are all set. I hope we can have enough to remain retired. I signed a six-fight contract with ONE, so there’s still some good money to be made. I want to save that money, make investments, so I can have a nice retirement in the future,” Lineker said to AG Fight.
Linekers run with the UFC was marred by multiple weigh-in misses, as the fight came in overweight for five of his UFC appearances.
There is no word at this time as to when Lineker will compete again, as the promotion has postponed all events through May due to the coronavirus.
