Johnny Eduardo Says He’s Cleared To Return To Action

Johnny Eduardo hasn’t competed in almost two years, with his last bout taking place at UFC Fight Night Utica in June of 2018.

A serious hand injury has kept Eduardo out of action since June of 2018, but the fighter says he has been cleared to return.

“Now that my doctor cleared me to train and get ready, I’m asking for a fight,” Eduardo said to MMA Fighting. “I’m racing against time and asking for a fight so I can work. I thought they were going to book me to fight at the London show on March 21, but I guess the card is already full. I’m waiting.”

Eduardo says he wants to return to action at UFC Fight Night London, which is just over a month away.

Despite not competing for nearly two years, one thing Eduardo expects is to be back in the top ten sooner rather than later.

“I haven’t fought in a year and a half, but that was good for me,” Eduardo said. “Many people talk about retirement, but I’m still healthy, still feeling the energy to continue working, so I don’t see it that way. I’m part of a great weight class in the UFC and I want to be back to the top 10.”

There is no word yet as to when Eduardo is going to officially be back in action or whom that bout will come against.
