Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are scheduled to headline next months UFC 244 card, with the winner being awarded the BMF Championship.
However, one half of that main event in Diaz took to social media earlier today to announce that he is off of the UFC 244 card due to the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Although there has been no official announcement by the UFC at this time, it would appear that Diaz won’t be coming to Madison Square Garden on November 2.
UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, who has had a sordid history with USADA as well, would take to Twitter to offer Diaz some words of encouragement:
I know you feel like someone is setting you up, that’s exactly how I felt. At times its going to feel like a pretty hopeless situation but maybe it’s not, you can’t just give up and do nothing. This is a different type of fight man, you owe it to your fans to fight it.

If Diaz is unable to compete next month at UFC 244, a replacement may have already been found in Leon Edwards, who has reportedly been in training camp at the behest of the UFC in case something happened with the UFC 244 main event.
UFC 244 takes place on Saturday, November 2 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
