Jon Jones is set to defend his UFC Heavyweight Title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. Though Jones and Miocic are headlining, much of the talk leading into the event has been centered on Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Ton Aspinall, and Jones not wanting to fight him.
Jones has said that fighting and beating Aspinall does nothing for his legacy and that the Interim UFC Heavyweight Title should not have been created in the first place.
Now, Jones doesn't want to "do business" with Aspinall because he's been an asshole. Jones said that if he had more respect, maybe they could have worked something out. "Fighting me gives him an opportunity to change his life forever. I don't even want to give him the opportunity. He played his cards wrong."
Jon Jones calling Tom Aspinall an “asshole” and saying that’s why he doesn’t want to “even do business with him” is one of the wildest takes I’ve heard.
