Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is preparing to fight current champion Daniel Cormier for the gold in a rematch at UFC 214.
Once his battle with Cormier is complete, then Jones wouldn’t mind stepping into the Octagon against a former UFC Heavyweight Champion.
“I would love to fight Brock Lesnar,” Jones told fans during a Facebook fan chat. “He’s a massive dude, it would be a massive draw, really big for the sport. It would be a great challenge. That’s a big old boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though. I definitely wouldn't try to wrestle with him the whole time. I can’t tell you what I would do.”
Lesnar hasn’t competed since a no contest against Mark Hunt at UFC 200, although rumors recently sprung up saying that he was interested in a UFC return.
However, upon receiving word of the challenge from Jones, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion would respond.
“Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere,” Lesnar told AP News. “Right now, he should be worried about ‘DC’ on Saturday night.”
Jones has also teased a jump up a weight class to heavyweight as well, as he has competed as a light heavyweight for his entire professional MMA career.
UFC 214 takes place on Saturday, July 29 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
