Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and former European heavyweight boxing champion Kubrat Pulev are scheduled to face each other at the next Triller Triad Combat event.
TMZ Sports was the first to report the news of the matchup between the two heavyweights, with Triller Fight Club announcing the event themselves via their social media accounts, revealing a target date of February. It will be the second installment of their MMA versus boxing hybrid fighting league that takes place in a triangular-shaped ring. The Brazilian MMA legend will be making his debut for the promotion and competing for the first time since the UFC released him last March.
He hasn't won a fight since March 2019 and is coming off of a second-round TKO loss to current interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane, back at UFC 256 in his last Octagon appearance. Pulev on the other hand went 28-2 as a pro boxer and will look to build off of a first-round KO win over former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank Mir, at the initial Triad Combat event in November. The night is also expected to feature a matchup between former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort and former boxing light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson.
The fight revolution continues.
