Gaethje is competing in the division ruled by UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, whom Gaethje labels as a quitter.

“Skill wise, there’s nobody that’s gonna outwork me. He’ll outtalk me, that’s for damn sure but he ain’t gonna outwork me. His skillset is special, he’s got a great left hand. But we’ve seen him quit. He’s got quit in his heart and once a quitter, always a quitter,” Gaethje said on UFC Unfiltered.

McGregor is currently preparing for the boxing super fight this August against Floyd Mayweather.

If Gaethje ever were to face McGregor inside of the Octagon, the fighter does have a plan to defeat him.

“I’m gonna get that opportunity. I’m gonna get the interim belt around my waist and then when he comes back, he has to fight me. [I’ll] make it a dogfight, make it a war, everything he doesn’t want it to be,” says Gaethje.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale takes place on Friday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Justin Gaethje and Michael Johnson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
