Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold suffered a third round knockout loss to Yoel Romero in the main event of UFC 221.
Romero planted a kiss on the cheek of Rockhold after the fight, a kiss that the former champion is now calling ridiculous.
“For him to come across the cage like that, it’s just ridiculous for them to let him do that,” Rockhold said on The MMA Hour. “Not a big fan of how he carries himself. He’s a bit fake. I’m not really saying how I feel. I am who I am. Like it or hate it.”
Rockhold isn’t the only fighter to speak out about the situation, as another former UFC Middleweight Champion in Michael Bisping said he was also wary of the whole thing.
Ridiculous kiss or not, one thing Rockhold says about Romero is that the fighter felt strong during their battle in the Octagon.
“Yoel felt strong,” Rockhold said. “He felt big. I didn’t feel my best. … The weight cuts are getting to me these days.”
The former middleweight champion is now considering a move to light heavyweight, while Romero is reportedly challenging Robert Whittaker for the UFC Middleweight Title at UFC 225.
