Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold has been hinting at moving up a weight class to light heavyweight.
Rockhold wouldn’t mind fighting Alexander Gustafsson his first opponent in the divisional debut, which the former champ recently discussed on The MMA Hour.
“I like it (fighting Gustafsson),” Rockhold said. “I think it was petty coming after me so early (after the knockout loss). I don’t know if he was trying to get under DC’s skin, but I’ll be coming. I’ll be coming to 205. Im gonna handle my business and you better be sure I’m coming for that ass, too.”
Gustafsson, who hasn’t fought since defeated Glover Teixeira by TKO at UFC Fight Night 109, would issue the following statement to Rockhold via Twitter:
@LukeRockhold . Heard u coming for me.. Can’t ask for more .chinny as middle weight. KO’d as a LHW. Fool yourself to believe its the weight cut.

I’ll wait for u!!
The UFC has yet to make a potential fight between the two official in anyway, as Gustafsson is still recovering from a shoulder surgery done last year.
If Rockhold does make the move up the weight class, it could lead to a battle between he and longtime friend Daniel Cormier, who is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
