A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 250 as Maki Pitolo is going to be in action against Charles Byrd.
The bout was announced during the UFC 249 broadcast, but it’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Pitolo (12-5-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Callan Potter at UFC 243 in October of 2019. Pitolo competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 4, defeating Justin Sumter by first round TKO. Pitolo has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Byrd (10-6-0) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Darren Stewart and Edmen Shahbazyan. Byrd hasn’t picked up a win in over two years, with that last victory coming over John Phillips at UFC Fight Night London. Byrd also picked up two wins on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, with those coming over Jamie Pickett and Randall Wallace.
UFC 250 takes place on Saturday, June 6 from a location to be announced with Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
