Matt Hughes Hit With A Pair Of Restraining Orders

Former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes is still recovering from a train accident that nearly ended his life in June of 2017.

However, while that recovery is still on going, it would appear that Hughes’ personal life is starting to unravel.

That’s because a report from TMZ is reporting that Hughes’ wife Audra Hughes and brother Mark Hughes have both filed restraining orders against the former UFC star.

Audra is claiming that around September/October of 2017, an incident occurred after she wouldn’t give Matt the keys to a truck, saying that the former fighter couldn’t drive due to the brain injury suffered in the aforementioned accident. Matt would allegedly snap and then choke Audra in the shower before demanding the code to his gun vault, while also smashing her head against a wall.

About a year later in July of 2018, another incident took place where Hughes had threatened to kill Audra because she had taken his phone after the retired fighter had allegedly been in contact with multiple women. Then, in December of 2018, another incident happened as Matt hit his wife in front of their children, which prompted Audra to file a restraining order the next day.

Mark would file a restraining order against Matt after a dispute broke out between the brothers over the ownership of a tractor. Matt had allegedly claimed he owned said tractor, but would then attack Mark’s 15 year old son after the UFC star saw Mark’s son driving it. Matt would also be accused of dousing the tractor in gasoline in an alleged attempt to destroy it.

The restraining order filed by Audra says that Matt must stay 500 feet away from her and their children, while Mark’s restraining order says that Matt must stay away from his family.
