Michael Chandler will return to the Octagon at UFC 309 against Charles Oliveira.
The bout will serve as the co-main event and be a five-round affair.
The news was first reported by Robbie Fox of Barstool, who spoke with Dana White.
Chandler was scheduled to fight Conor McGregor at UFC 303 on June 29, but the fight was canceled on June 13th after McGregor suffered a broken toe. Instead of waiting for Conor to return, Chandler accepted the fight against Oliveira. Conor won't fight until 2025.
CORRECTION: I just got off the phone with Dana White, and there was a slight misunderstanding here. Michael Chandler may still fight Conor in his return next year, but he’s taking another fight first…. https://t.co/HanYNbDN7p pic.twitter.com/zh8CqD6QGu
