Michael Chandler Says UFC "Wasn't The Most" Lucrative Offer He Got

Michael Chandler reveals UFC was not the most lucrative option on the table during his free agency.

Chandler caught up with Brendan Shaub for the latter's Food Truck Diaries show. During their pre-meal chat, Shaub asked Chandler if his new-home offered him the most amount of money to sign.

"It wasn't the most but it was more of a competition thing," Chandler replied. "The UFC is where I wanted to land, for sure, but you are not making a smart business decision as a free agent unless you at least entertain all the offers. All the offers were great, both financially and just the people. Being able to sit across the negotiation table with PFL, with ONE Championship and continue to talk to Bellator at the same time was an interesting process. As soon as I sat in that room at the UFC offices I knew this is where I was going to end up. 72 hours later we got the deal done."

"Was I 100 percent convinced I was going to leave Bellator? No. But I was 100 percent convinced that I was going to test free agency," he continued. "For me, the UFC deal was the right offer at the right time and it's the most exciting division in the UFC right now."
