The Rizin 13 card is in the books and while a lot of great action took place in the ring, two of the biggest victories on the show went to MMA legend Mirko Cro Cop and Bob Sapp.
Cro Cop took on tested veteran Rogue Martinez on the card and while the legendary heavyweight is known for that lethal head kick, it was a dangerous elbow strike that got him the win on this night. Martinez held Cro Cop against the ropes as the first round was winding down, but Cro Cop created distance and landed a brutal elbow strike to the head of Martinez that would be looked at by a doctor. The doctor would determine the cut was too severe for Martinez to continue and Cro Cop picked up his ninth straight win.
Sapp would pick up a unanimous decision win over Abdelrahman Shalan in a super heavyweight fight at Rizin 13, ending a losing streak that lasted for almost nine years. Other than ending a fourteen fight winning streak, a victorious Sapp also picked up the first decision win in his sixteen-plus year professional MMA career. While Sapp was fighting for the thirty second time in his professional MMA career, it was the professional MMA debut for Shalan.
Neither fighter has hinted at what there next move could be and Rizin returns to action on New Years Eve with Rizin 14.
