UFC veteran and UFC Ultimate Fighter 17 alumni Kevin Casey (9-5-0) has signed a multi-fight/multi-year contract with Bellator MMA.
Casey earned a record of 1-3-1 (2 NC) during his time in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Ildemar Alcantara at UFC Fight Night 71. Casey is also a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance Light Heavyweight Champion, defeating fellow TUF alumni Andrew Sanchez to win the belt.
Casey is best known as the son-in-law of the late Muhammad Ali, he fought Elvis Mutapcic a few days after the legendary boxer’s death, the fight ended in a draw at UFC 199.
Casey is planning on making his promotional debut at Bellator 170 on January 21. That event will be headlined by Chael Sonnen taking on Tito Ortiz.
Neither Casey or Bellator MMA officials have issued a statement of any kind on the agreement. MMA Fighting was the first to report the signing.
