Nate Diaz hasn’t been seen inside the Octagon since dropping a decision to UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor at UFC 202.
After UFC 202, the Stockton native was seen vaping cannabis in front of the MMA media, a move that has earned the fighter a lot of money.
“It don’t matter,” Diaz said on The MMA Hour. “I banked out in the cannabis industry from it. … It was a good move and it was organic. It's CBD. It helps with the healing process and inflammation, stuff like that. So you want to get these for before and after the fights, training. It'll make your life a better place.”
Diaz was set to face some discipline from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for vaping cannabis, but the fighter received nothing but a warning in the end.
Even though Diaz feels that the UFC has given him the cold shoulder since UFC 202, that will not stop him from making more cannabis money.
“They tried to give me the cold shoulder and hide me out and let me die off,” Diaz said. “But it’s all good because I'm not gonna die off. I’m still right here in the game. I’m still training harder than anybody. I still got people calling. The f*ckin’ cannabis industry is f*cking blowing money out of their mind over here.”
The Stockton native doesn’t have another fight scheduled at this time, but he stated in the interview with The MMA Hour that he wouldn’t fight at all in 2017.
