It's no question that Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz had one of the best UFC main event matches in recent memory. Some question the judges' decision to award McGregor the majority decision victory because of how McGregor disengaged himself from the fight at times and ran across the ring. Nate Diaz is one of those people that thought he ran away from him.
Diaz spoke to the media after his loss and insisted that he won the fight.
I didn't think for a second that I lost at the end of the fight," Diaz said. "I thought I won the fight, at least from round two since we're judging by rounds."
Diaz said that McGregor should have been deducted a point for running from Diaz various times throughout the fight.
"I think he did a lot of running away that in the old days or in a real fight I think you'd get pointed for it," Diaz said. "Or in boxing you'd get pointed for it. So I think they should have taken a point from him for running and I think I would have brought the action it would have been less of a fight. I didn't think I lost for a second, until it was over. Until they said so."
A third fight against McGregor is something that Diaz is in favor of. No one really knows when that fight might happen as McGregor still needs to make a decision as to whether he will come back to the featherweight division to defend his UFC title against Jose Aldo, who is the interim champion.
