New York State Athletic Commission Says UFC 249 Cannot Be Held In New York

We are exactly one month away from when UFC 249 is scheduled to happen, but the coronavirus pandemic has caused a lot of issues for that card and a host of other UFC events.

While UFC President Dana White has already stated that the show will go on, most likely outside of the United States, a recent statement by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) ensures that New York won’t be hosting the event.

“Out of an abundance of caution and in line with recent guidance issued by the Center for Disease Control and New York State, the New York State Athletic Commission informed the UFC that UFC 249 cannot be held in NY.,” the commission confirmed in a statement sent to MMA Fighting.
