Ovince St. Preux & Charles Rosa Want UFC Fight Night Japan Bouts Rebooked

UFC Fight Night Japan is in the books and the card was filled with tens bouts, all of which aired live on the FXX network.

Ovince St. Preux was victorious in the main event against short notice opponent Yushin Okami, but he was originally supposed to face Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in a rematch of an encounter that took place a few years back.

Rua was pulled from the fight due to a knee injury and OSP would like another chance to fight the MMA legend.

“I definitely came here to fight ‘Shogun’ and definitely want to fight ‘Shogun,'” Saint Preux said after the event. “But whoever’s ahead of me right now.”

Charles Rosa was also set to fight at the event against Mizuto Hirota, but Hirota was pulled from the event and no replacement opponent was found in time to fight Rosa.

Rosa, much like OSP, would like to have another chance to fight Hirota or just another fighter because he just wants to fight again.

“I told (UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby) whatever he can do to try to get me on soon, and he said he’d try to get me on a card soon,” Rosa said to MMA Junkie. “You’ll definitely see me back in the UFC soon.”

Despite both OSP and Rosa’s need for their fights to be rebooked, the UFC has yet to make anything official in regards to those requests.
