Randa Markos Talks UFC on FOX 27, Change in Diet & Has No Plans Of Moving To Flyweight

MMA

In an exclusive interview with Fightful's James Lynch, Randa Markos (7-5) discusses her upcoming fight against Juliana Lima (9-4) at UFC on FOX 27 on Jan. 27. Randa also talks about her loss to Alexa Grasso, switching up her diet for this weight cut, potential move to 125lbs and what she's watching on Netflix.

Markos does fight Lima in a strawweight division bout at UFC On Fox 27, but the fighter has no plans to move to flyweight at this time.

“No, not at all, maybe in the future, but right now, 115 is my weight class,” says Markos.

There was a time that Markos worked a second job outside of fighting for the UFC, which is something many fighters on the UFC roster do.

However, with all of her focus strictly on MMA, a surging Markos no longer holds that second job at the local pharmacy.

“No, I’ve kind of stepped away from that, its taking to much of my energy and its taking to much of my time. I’m completely focused on MMA and I feel more comfortable not having to worry. I means its good to be going to the pharmacy and leaving everything behind and focus on something different, other than fighting. At the same time, you pick up on some things from the pharmacy and it bothers you throughout the day or its like on your mind throughout the day. I don’t need that kind of energy right now, being like one hundred percent focused on MMA is what I need right now,” says Markos.

UFC On Fox 27 takes place on Saturday, January 27 from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina with Ronaldo Souza and Derek Brunson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
