A bantamweight division affair has been added to UFC 228 according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA as #8 Aljamain Sterling is in action agaisnt #10 Cody Stamann.
Sterling (15-3-0) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Augusto Mendes, Renan Barao and Brett Johns. Sterling has only fought on one pay-per-view card before, defeating the aforementioned Renan Barao by unanimous decision at UFC 214. Sterling has suffered a total of three defeats as a professional MMA fighter, but the competitor has yet to suffer a loss by way of submission.
Stamann (17-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Terrion Ware, Tom Duquesnoy and Bryan Caraway. Stamann has seen all of his bouts in the UFC go the distance and it has been over a year since the fighter got a finish. Stamann is also a former Triple X Cagefighting and Michigan Fight League Bantamweight Champion, winning the gold in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
