Aleksander Doskalchuk has been pulled from UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II, replacing him against Malcom Gordon is Amir Albazi.
MMA Junkie first reported the news, but no reason was given for Doskalchuk’s withdrawal at this time.
Gordon (12-3-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so while riding a four fight winning streak. Gordon is also a former TKO MMA Flyweight Champion, but he’ll most likely relinquish the title after signing with the UFC. Gordon has competed fifteen times as a professional MMA fighter and three of those bouts went the distance.
Albazi (12-1-0) is also going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and is also going to be competing for the first time in 2020. Albazi did compete twice under the Bellator MMA banner, picking up wins over the duo of Jamie Powell and Iurie Bejenarie. Albazi has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II takes place on Saturday, July 18 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Deiveson Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
