A new threat is making her way to the Bellator MMA Women’s Flyweight Division as the promotion has signed Elina Kallionidou to a deal.

MMA Fighting first reported the news, but did not specify the exact length of Kallionidou’s contract or any financial numbers associated with the deal.

Kallionidou (7-2-0) has already competed twice under the Bellator MMA banner, suffering defeats to the duo of Sinead Kavanagh and Anastasia Yankova. Kallionidou will enter the promotion while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, but has only competed once in the last two years. Kallionidou is also a former Cage Survivor Women’s Bantamweight Champion, defeating Foteini Kromida by unanimous decision to win the gold at Cage Survivor 4. Kallionidou has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter, with five of them coming by a combination of submission and KO/TKO.

There is now word at this time as to when Kallionidou is expected to make her promotional return or whom that opponent is going to be at that time. Ilima-Lei Macfarlane is the current Bellator MMA Women’s Flyweight Champion and she is set to defend the gold against Veta Arteaga this April in the co-main event of Bellator 220.
