A women’s bantamweight division attraction between Bethe Correia and Yanan Wu, originally set for UFC Vegas 16, has been rescheduled for the January 16 UFC card.
Sherdog reported the news, although no reason was given for the change.
Correia (11-5-1) has won just two of her last eight under the UFC banner with those wins coming over Jessica Eye and Sijara Eubanks. Correia has previously challenged for the UFC women’s bantamweight title, losing to then champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 190. Correia has competed 17 times as a professional MMA fighter and 12 of those bouts went the distance.
Wu (11-3-0) has won just one of three in the UFC, with that lone victory coming over Lauren Mueller at UFC Fight Night Beijing. Wu has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came to past/current UFC fighters. Wu has picked up seven of her pro MMA wins by way of KO/TKO, while another two came by submission.
UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Kattar is set for Saturday, January 16 from a location to be announced with Max Holloway versus Calvin Kattar headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
