Penn was the only person inside of the vehicle at the time of the accident and was transported via ambulance to the Hilo Medical Center, but his condition isn’t known as of this writing.

Cpt. Quiocho says that speed was definitely a factor in the accident and an investigation into a DUI was started after the hospital staff drew blood from Penn and the results were shared with the authorities. Penn’s exact blood alcohol level wasn’t revealed to the media or the public at this time.

The UFC Hall Of Fame member has been dealing with a lot of issues over the last few years, as Penn was hit with a restraining order from the mother of his children, threatened a farmer with a machete and got into a street fight outside of a bar in Hilo, Hawaii. Penn was cut from the UFC in 2019 after the bar fight footage was released and he hasn’t competed since then.
