Report: Bobby Green Off UFC 222

MMA

Bobby Green has reportedly suffered an injury according to Farah Hannoun and is off of UFC 222, where he was scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush. There is no word at the time as to what form of injury that Green suffered, but neither he or anybody from the UFC have commented on the situation.

Dariush is expected to remain on the card as UFC officials are currently seeking a replacement for him to fight. The promotion has under a month to fight a replacement, as the event is scheduled for March 3.

Dariush (14-3-1) has won just two of his last four fights in the UFC, with that last victory coming over Rashid Magomedov at UFC Fight Night 98. Dariush has suffered all of his professional MMA defeats in the UFC, with two coming by KO/TKO and one coming by way of submission. Dariush has earned six of those fourteen wins as a pro by submission, but it has been almost three years since the fighter got a finish in that manner.

UFC 222 takes place on Saturday, March 3 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
