Kyler Phillips is going to need a new opponent to battle this October at UFC Fight Island 4 as his original opponent in Danaa Batgerel has been pulled from the card.
The MMA Report first reported the news, citing COVID-19 travel restrictions in Mongolian as the reason for Batgerel’s withdrawal. Phillips is expected to remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for him to fight.
Phillips (7-1-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition having defeated Gabriel Silva by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Norfolk. Phillips competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27, losing in the opening round of the reality show to Brad Katona. Phillips also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 4, defeating James Gray Jr. by first-round TKO.
UFC Fight Island 4 is set for Saturday, October 3 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Holly Holm and Irene Aldana headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
