A heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Wichita according to Flo Combat as Daniel Spitz is going to be in action against Jeff Hughes.
Spitz (6-2-0) has won just one of three bouts under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Anthony Hamilton at UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh. Spitz went undefeated as a professional MMA fighter before coming to the UFC in 2017, which included a win over UFC veteran Cabbage Correira. Spitz has seen just two of his eight professional MMA bouts go the distance, with Spitz winning one of those two encounters.
Hughes (10-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Hughes earned a contract with the UFC after competing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 14, defeating Josh Appelt by first round knockout. Hughes is also a former Legacy Fighting Alliance Heavyweight Champion, defeating Richard Odoms to win the gold at LFA 26.
UFC Fight Night Wichita takes place on Saturday, March 9 from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
