A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik as Darren Stewart faces Maki Pitolo.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Stewart (11-5-0-1NC) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Eric Spicely, Charles Byrd, Bevon Lewis and Deron Winn. Stewart is coming off of a one-off appearance in Cage Warriors, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Bartosz Fabinski at Cage Warriors 113. Stewart has seen his last four fights go the distance and it has been almost two years since the fighter got a finish.
Pitolo (13-5-0) is looking to build on the momentum of his first UFC win, which came over the aforementioned Byrd at UFC 250. Pitolo competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 3, defeating Justin Michael Sumter by first round TKO. Pitolo is a former Victory Fighting Championship Middleweight Champion, defeating Kassius Kayne to win the gold.
