Ed Herman likely did not come out of the weekend completely empty-handed after his fight against Gerald Meerschaert fell through.
Herman was scheduled to face Meerschaert at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan. Unfortunately, Meerschaert tested positive for the novel coronavirus and the bout was pulled from the card. UFC did pay Herman some money for the canceled fight but it was nowhere near the amount that Herman makes on his UFC contract.
Steven Marroco of MMA Fighting posted the following on Twitter, reporting that Herman was offered $10,000 by the UFC for the canceled bout:
Further clarification: offered $10k.

Herman made around $54,000 for his last fight, so the money allegedly given to him by the UFC was less than 20 percent of his typical show-plus-win purse. It should be noted that Herman reportedly signed a new contract with the UFC a short time ago, so he probably would have made more than $54,000 in a winning effort.
There is no word yet on when Herman will fight again. He was one of a multitude of fighters who were forced off the UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan card for one reason or another.
