A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Till as Francisco Trinaldo faces Jai Herbert.
Combate first reported the bout, which is expected to be a part of the preliminary card.
Trinaldo (25-7-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Bobby Green and John Makdessi. Trinaldo hasn’t suffered a defeat in just about a year, with that last loss coming to Alexander Hernandez at UFC Fight Night San Antonio. Trinaldo has picked up twenty five wins as a professional MMA fighter and twelve of them came by way of decision.
Herbert (10-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a six fight winning streak. Herbert is the current Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion, defeating Jack Grant at Cage Warriors 106 to claim the gold. Herbert has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Rhys McKee at BAMMA 27 in December of 2016.
UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Till takes place on Saturday, July 25 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Robert Whittaker and Darren Till headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
