A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg according to Tass.ru as Islam Makhachev is going to be in action against Arman Tsarukyan.
Makhachev (16-1-0) enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak, defeating the four pack of Chris Wade, Nik Lentz, Gleison Tibau and Kajan Johnson. Makhachev has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Adriano Martins at UFC 192. Makhachev has seen six of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and Makhachev picked up wins in all of those encounters.
Tsarukyan (13-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so while riding a twelve fight winning streak. Tsarukyan has seen his last five fights go into the third round and only two of those bouts went the distance. Tsarukyan has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Alexander Belikh in December of 2015.
UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg takes place on Saturday, April 20 from the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia with Alexander Volkov and Alistair Overeem headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
