A bantamweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 204 according to MMA Fighting as James Gallagher faces Ricky Bandejas.
Gallagher (7-0-0) is going to be making his bantamweight division debut in this fight, having previously competed as a featherweight. Gallagher also returns to action for the first time in over a year, as his last bout was a victory over Chinzo Machida at Bellator 180 in June of 2017. Gallagher has finished three of four fights in Bellator MMA by submission, with that other win coming by way of decision.
Bandejas (10-1-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a five bout winning streak. Bandejas is the current Cage Fury Fighting Championships Bantamweight Champion, defeating Nick Mamilis to win the gold at CFFC 69 in late 2017. Bandejas has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to UFC veteran Nick Pace at CFFC 52.
Bellator 204 takes place on Friday, August 17 from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Darrion Caldwell and Noad Lahat headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
