The Titan Fighting Championship promotion returns later this month with Titan FC 62, which is going to be headlined by a welterweight division encounter between Jared Gooden and Trent McCown.
MMA Fighting first reported the news and the card is going to be a rare Thursday Night event for the promotion.
Gooden (15-4-0) has gone winless thus far in Titan FC, dropping bouts to the duo of Michael Graves and Bruno Oliveira. Gooden battled in an ultra-rare six round fight at Titan FC 53, as the title bout against the aforementioned Graves was declared a draw and an extra round was needed to determine a winner. Gooden has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of decision.
McCown (9-4-0) is making his Titan FC debut in this bout and is also coming off of a loss to Mark Martin at Iron Tiger FS 88 in July of last year. McCown is a veteran of the Championship Fight Alliance promotion, winning three of five in that organization. McCown has no amateur MMA experience to speak of, so the fighter’s pro MMA experience is all of his MMA experience.
Other bouts on the card include Muhammadjon Naimov vs. Kobe Bowen, Odie Delaney vs. Prince McLean, Gus Villamil vs. Nekoro Bunsie, Gustavo Genao vs. Calvin Glover (Kickboxing), Lee Lilly vs. Alex Rojas and Carl Darbouze vs. Bryan Cromer.
Titan FC 62 takes place on Thursday, July 23 from the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Florida with Jared Gooden and Trent McCown headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
